Introduction

Principal Place is a landmark mixed-use development scheme located in Shoreditch and neighbouring the City of London. Developed by Brookfield, this development comprises retail and commercial space as well as incorporating one of London’s tallest residential towers. This site involved significant challenges of multiple stakeholders, enabling works and consideration of a strategic traffic route.

Momentum produced Construction Logistics Plans for both the residential and commercial construction sites which set out the logistics strategy. This included the design of enabling highway works together with swept path analysis of the site and access points to inform the layout and operational areas. Momentum produced traffic management scheme designs to comply with Chapter 8 standards to facilitate various logistical operations to facilitate deliveries and unloading as well as facilitating relevant road closure and suspension licenses. Momentum also engaged with the local authorities and stakeholders including regular liaison meetings to agree the proposals and develop an acceptable strategy.

Our work helped provide collaborative working with liaison and engagement with the multiple authorities and stakeholders. This provided clear communication channels and decision and approval processes for the design of works, traffic management and access and operational arrangements including the design of pit lane operations on the strategic road network.
