Club Peloton’s ‘The 1500’

We’re coming together as a team to cycle, run and walk as many kilometres as possible over the next 15 weeks as part of Club Peloton’s ‘The 1500’ challenge. We’ve set ourselves some big  targets – over 1,000 collective kilometres to be cycled per week and our runners are aiming to clock up over 200km each week. Over the 15-week period we hope to cycle, run and walk over 15,000km!

It’ll be tough, but worth every ounce of effort in order to raise money for this cause.

A few words from Team Momentum

My boots are made for walking: Grace Packard

“It’s so exciting to be doing this challenge, particularly as part of the Momentum team! We all have our own targets, but together we’ll be covering some really impressive distances, whether that be by bike, running or dusting off those sodden hiking boots that have been repurposed to become the doorstop. I think this is the motivation we’ve all needed after what feels like such a long winter and I’m sure it will generate some great comedy in our catch-up meetings each Monday.

60% of the money raised will go to Coram, an incredible charity working to protect vulnerable young children. The money raised will help children and their families receive much needed support, particularly after the pandemic which has caused a number of new challenges. The remaining funds raised will benefit some other incredible charities so all our kilometres and the money we raise are especially important. Better get those boots cleaned

I couldn’t think of a better reason to get out on the bike: A few words from David Hart

I don’t think we could have come up with a better reason to get active and embrace the weather and daylight improvement! Team Momentum has been ‘warming up’ over the last month and there is palpable excitement amongst the team as we rare up to get going with our own ‘1500’ challenges. Whilst we’re all working in our own homes, there’s already a great feeling of team spirit that we see each week in our internal meetings…. and this has added perhaps a touch of friendly competitiveness! We have a range of individual and team challenges involving cycling, running or walking, with our team events looking to clock up over 15,000 kilometres over the 15 weeks of the 1500.

We’re looking forward to seeing them clock up and I hope we can also raise some very important funds for Coram and Club Peloton’s other charity beneficiaries. Hitting these targets will be such an achievement and even more incredible if we still have energy by the end of it!
